ARCh's Camp Pow Wow provides children and adults who have disabilities with the opportunity to go to camp and experience swimming, fishing, nature, canoeing, arts and crafts, and music. ARCh's Camp Pow Wow strives to accommodate all individuals, regardless of needs. Below are answers to a number of frequently asked questions regarding our camp.

Who can attend camp?
Campers from 5-21 years of age are welcome at our Children’s Sessions. Campers who are 22 and older are invited to attend the Adult Sessions. Camp Pow Wow accepts all campers, regardless of their label of disability.

  Where is Camp Pow Wow?
Camp Pow Wow is located in Menomonee Park in Menomonee Falls. Accessible transportation is provided at no cost at set pick-up points throughout Waukesha County for all day camp sessions.

What is Day Camp like?
Each week of day camp is planned around a theme.  Camp activities include arts and crafts, music, gardening, fishing, swimming, canoeing, and much more!  The camp day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.   New this year, session 7 offers extended hours for working parents.  The fee for one week of day camp is $350*.  Camper to staff ratio is 3:1.  A limited amount of financial assistance is available to campers with documented financial need.  If you would like to apply for a campership, please contact Kristin Damato at (262) 542-9811, ext. 10 to request a campership application. Deadline to request campership application is Monday, April 19th, 2010.

  Do we sleep over at camp?
During our day camp sessions, we offer an optional Thursday night overnight experience.  Campers and staff enjoy a night in our platform tents, featuring special all-camp activities and a rowdy campfire.  Note that transportation is not provided on Thursday afternoons or Friday mornings for those campers who do not spend the night.

What is Residential Camp?
Residential camp is five full days of respite camp.  Campers arrive at 9 a.m. Monday, and leave at 3 p.m.

Friday.  This allows for a more rustic camp experience, and more individualized attention.  The fee for one week of residential camp is $600*.  Camper to staff ratio is 2:1 during this week.

How do I register?
Complete a Camp Registration Forms (pages 7-13) and mail it to the ARCh office by Friday, April 23rd, 2010.  Registrations received after this date will be assessed a $25 per session late fee.  Don’t forget to send in your deposit of $50 per session to hold your spot(s).  Registration deposits are non-refundable.  You will soon receive a confirmation of your registration, along with your camp invoice, and Health Examination Form.  Full payment of all fees, and Health Examination Form, are due by Friday, May 14th, 2010.  Make sure to register early to ensure you can attend the weeks you want!
